What You'll Learn

Core Skills Development

• Advanced buoyancy control and underwater navigation

• Enhanced dive planning and safety procedures
• Equipment selection for different diving conditions

Adventure Dive Experiences Complete five different adventure dives including two mandatory specialties plus three electives chosen based on your interests and local diving opportunities.

Training Components

Knowledge Development Study materials covering dive theory, planning, and safety for each adventure dive specialty, plus the "Thinking Like a Diver" section that develops problem-solving skills.

Adventure Dives Five open water training dives, each focusing on a different diving specialty or environment.

Mandatory Adventure Dives:

• Deep Dive - Explore depths to maximum of 30 meters with proper planning and safety procedures
• Underwater Navigation - Master compass navigation and natural reference techniques

Elective Options Include: Boat diving, dry suit diving, enriched air, peak performance buoyancy, wreck diving, night diving, fish identification, and other specialties based on availability and conditions.

What You'll Receive

Next Steps

Advanced Open Water Diver certification qualifies you for Rescue Diver training, deeper diving experiences, and serves as a prerequisite for many specialty courses. Each adventure dive can also count as the first dive toward the full specialty certification.
